The Discovery of the M18 Anomaly
The M18 Anomaly first appeared in the 2000 Mars Global Surveyor images. At first glance, the object looked like a massive circular structure, unlike any natural formation typically seen on Mars. NASA’s initial explanation leaned toward a technical error or artifact in the image processing.
However, Thomas Mikey Jensen, who began studying Mars images in 2011, took a different approach.
Jensen’s research involved analyzing multiple images from different satellites and missions.
He found the same anomaly in at least two other satellite images, which strongly suggests the object is not an error. This repeated appearance dismisses the idea that the M18 Anomaly is a mere artifact and points to something physically present on Mars.
